Mixing up elements of folk, jazz and soul, Bev Lee Harling’s music is sometimes dark, sometimes frivolous, but always engaging and human spirited. Her songs’ common bond is the luscious, pure vocals that thread their way through the highs and lows of life experience.
Harling’s album Barefoot in your Kitchen delivered a truly unique debut by combining her stunning vocals and multi-instrumental talents. Having won the heart of BBC 6 Music’s Gilles Peterson, who made it his Album of the Week, Bev found herself in much demand.
Bev is currently exploring her love of voice and violin, combining the two in solo shows around the country. Using her violin, ukelele style she accompanies herself, creating an intimate quirky insight into her current infatuation with her hometown of Hastings.
