Scottish songwriter and guitarist John Alexander’s songs have been honed through his solo acoustic performances and formed the basis for live performances that included a successful run of sell out shows.
Alexander brings together the latest instalment of his dustbowl blues with the release of his new album ‘Of These Lands’. This collection of life and weather beaten tales follows on from his previous release Rain For Sale. Of These Lands was mixed and mastered at Glasgow’s Kyoti Studios by Mark Freegard and features a number of guest musicians, many of whom are prominent figures on the roots music circuit.
Alexander’s influences include John Martyn, Greg Brown, Bob Dylan and Muddy Waters which are revealed in his soulful lyrics, strong guitar work and storytelling skills. His songs have been successful in obtaining placements on the US television show The Lizzie Borden Chronicles and also the hit Netflix show ‘Longmire’.
