Originally formed in South London in 1977 Nine Below Zero quickly developed a reputation as one of the best blues bands in the country.
Their album ‘Live at the Marquee’ captured their high-energy live act on record and secured them slots on high profile tours with the likes of The Who, The Kinks and Sting. As well as taking on 12 nights at the Royal Albert Hall with Eric Clapton and television appearances with a memorable performance on the first episode of comedy hit ‘The Young Ones’.
The band celebrated their 10th anniversary by adding a rhythm section to the line-up, going on a sell out UK tour and signing a brand new record deal. With creative control over their latest material the release of ‘It’s Never Too Late’ in 2009 received critical acclaim.
Bringing the 8-piece band that took crowds by storm at Glastonbury Festival last year, Nine Below Zero take to the main stage on Sunday.
