LMF named Best Live Music Event at the WOCAs for the second year running

We’ve once again been named Best Live Music Event at the annual What’s on Cornwall Awards or – WOCAs as they are known. The WOCAs celebrates the arts and leisure industry in Cornwall and it’s the second time you’ve voted us as the best.

The annual Looe Music Festival has been recognised for its town transformation as the beach, streets, restaurants and shops all become stages for the electric line-up. This year headliners Happy Mondays, Lulu and The Jesus and Mary Chain as well as Cast, The Undertones, The Correspondents, Uncle Frank and Reverend and The Makers are all heading for the Cornish fishing port.

Event Director and Charity Trustee, Tanya Brittain, said: “To receive the award for the second time is fantastic, especially as it’s voted for by those who come and enjoy the weekend. We are really excited to be hosting our 7th festival with over 80% of our line-up representing new names.

“This year, we were also sponsor of the theatre category, it’s great to be able to support other arts and cultural programmes in Cornwall. The county has a lot to offer and we’re proud to be amongst all the other nominees.”

Rouge Theatre was crowned winner of Best Theatre Show at the awards evening where Lee Trewhela and Kernow King co-hosted the celebrations with live music from Auction For The Promise Club, YouTube sensation Daisy Clark, King Creature and Blacktop Deluxe.

Thank you to everyone who voted. We’ll see you on the beach in September.
