Radio debut for our Young Songwriter of the Year

Our Young Songwriter of the Year, fifteen-year-old Georgia Death from Newquay, is appearing on David White’s BBC Music Introducing show on BBC Radio Cornwall.

Making her radio debut on Saturday 4th February Georgia talks to David White about the competition and her winning song ‘Gravity‘ will be aired for the first time to top off the experience.

Judged by Sam Kelly and Seth Lakeman who described her songwriting ability as “a great new talent that already has a strength of writing that is mature and beyond her years,” Georgia stood out as an exceptional entry.

Since finding out about her win, Georgia performed as part of the Looe Music Festival 2016 line-up and was interviewed for BBC Spotlight. Now eagerly awaiting the hard copies of her single ‘Gravity’, Georgia worked with a team of professional session musicians and signers, a sound engineer and a producer to record the final version of her song to an industry standard at the Cube Recording Studio, Truro.

The competition gave 11 – 16 year olds with musical ambitions the opportunity to show off Cornwall’s budding songsmiths and homegrown talent.

Gravity by Georgia Death is available on Spotify and to download from iTunes.
