Psychobilly rats-with-fags King Kurt are ‘destination Zu-LOOE-land’ this September

Looe beach is the place to be this September if rockabilly psycho chanting is your thing.

Fronted by the irrepressible Smeg, the post-Cramps psychobilly revivalists King Kurt are best remembered for their single “Destination Zululand,” which stormed the UK chart in 1984.

Signed to Stiff Records King Kurt released four singles, working with top producers Dave Edmunds and Steve Brown.

After an appearance on Top of the Pops in 1986 they moved to Polydor Records and released a second album – Big Cock, under the guidance of producer Phil Wainman the mastermind behind The Sweet.

You can catch them on Sunday 25th September. See you on the beach sporting your craziest King Kurt haircut – anything could happen.
